Since 2017, La Gran Tamalada has brought together families, neighbors, and visitors to Market Square to celebrate one of San Antonio’s most beloved holiday traditions—making and enjoying tamales. This free community event blends cultura, storytelling, music, and of course, plenty of delicious tamales. Guests can shop from local vendors, watch live demonstrations, and experience the joy of the season in the heart of the city.

This year’s event will once again take place throughout Historic Market Square on Saturday, December 13, 2025 and Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 10am – 6pm.
